Let’s get the music playing.

Help with choosing an app, installing a package, or connecting to After2AM Audio Server.

After2AM Audio can be as simple as one local desktop player or as broad as a private multi-device platform. If you’re not sure where to begin, start with the question below that sounds most like you.

For questions, bug reports, or feedback, email After2AM Studio. Include the app name, version, operating system, and a short description of what happened.

Which app should I install?

I keep my music on this computer.

Install the cross-platform After2AM Audio Library on macOS, Windows, or Linux. On a Mac, you can instead choose the more stylised native After2AM Audio player. Neither requires a server account for local-folder playback.

I want the same library on several devices.

Start with After2AM Audio Server on an Apple Silicon Mac or a Docker host. Then connect the desktop or mobile players to its local address.

I want to listen on my phone.

The iPhone and Android apps require After2AM Audio Server. They stream from that shared library and can save selected tracks for offline listening, but they do not create a standalone music library from files copied directly to the phone.

I only want to listen in a browser.

After2AM Audio Server includes its own web player. Open the server address in a modern browser, sign in, and the shared library is ready there.

Server basics

The packaged server uses port 2104. On the host Mac, the menu-bar launcher opens http://127.0.0.1:2104. Other devices on the same network can use http://<the-server-ip>:2104.

Direct local-network access is intended for a trusted home network. Do not forward the local server port from the router. Access from outside your home needs the separate secure remote-access setup.

For Docker installation, the Portainer setup guide explains the supplied YAML, storage paths, ports, streaming settings, and remote-access choices.

Downloads

All currently available packages are collected on the Downloads page. The iPhone and Android pages are previews until their final store or package links are ready.
