Central library
Index music from folders on this Mac, external drives, mounted network storage, or Docker volumes and share one library with every player.
Your private music cloud
After2AM Audio Server gives every player one private home for music, artwork, playlists, playback state, and streaming. Run it on a Mac or deploy it to your home server with Portainer.
The shared foundation
The server is both the central library authority for the After2AM ecosystem and a capable browser player when you don’t have a native app nearby.
Index music from folders on this Mac, external drives, mounted network storage, or Docker volumes and share one library with every player.
Browse and stream from the web app in original quality or use smaller copies made for smoother streaming.
Playlists, favourites, ratings, queue, and listening progress stay together across supported players.
Keep covers and artist photos ready, improve your library details, and let the server handle the heavier work.
Catalogue the releases you own, bring in an existing Collection, and see it in the desktop players.
Choose when to scan, create backups, check server health, and keep enough free space while streaming copies are made.

Pick your host
The macOS edition bundles the server and a menu-bar launcher into one app. The Portainer stack is made for always-on home-server hardware and only needs your music and data folders.
Drag the app to Applications, open it, and finish setup in the browser. The launcher handles start, stop, restart, opening at login, logs, and data folders.
Use the public image and supplied stack. Choose the folders for your music and server data, change the port if needed, and deploy.
Local-network use works immediately. Access from outside your home stays off until you turn it on and finish the secure setup.
Version 0.1.0
Install the self-contained macOS app on an Apple Silicon Mac, or download the Portainer stack for your Docker host.
